One of Bulgaria's most ambitious golf projects is about to start with a
lion's leap. The first sod of a luxurious 18-hole golf course will
today be turned in the town of Kableshkovo, near the Black Sea resort
The prima of the Bulgarian athletics and Chairperson to the Bulgarian Olympic Committee Stefka Kostadinova will be there and hopefully bless the future of Black Sea Golf & Country Club with some of that famous luck of hers. Nearly 200 million levs will be invested in the new complex. The project will be managed and implemented by the joint venture Kabland Ltd, the stakeholders of which are the Spanish NGB Consulting and Pomorie Municipality. The plan is to create a high-class golf course over 20 ha of municipal land, and also to build a golf school for beginners, a tennis complex, several swimming pools, restaurants, bars and stores as well as a few entertainment centers.
"The place is ideal for golf tourism," the investors are convinced. Mild climate and the close proximity to the seacoast will lengthen the tourist season to nine months and will certainly attract ardent golfers from all over the world. The golf players in Europe alone outnumber 5 million people. Each year they would spend lavishly to enjoy their favourite game - a total of 2 billion Euros, to be more precise. If things go according to plan, the new golf complex will automatically create 800 new permanent jobs for local people as well as 5000 positions at Kableshkovo municipality. The Vineyards
